Students get active for sport relief

Sports students from Tameside College have been working hard to raise money for Sport Relief.

The students have organised sport related activities to encourage both staff and students to be involved.

Activities such as fencing, archery and volleyball were arranged as friendly competition between staff and students. A ‘glo rave’ in the college sports hall also took place during the week.

Sport Relief is an event which brings the nation together to work and build as one, it is when the British public come together to get active, raise money and change lives. By being part of Sport Relief people play a huge part in changing people’s lives for the better; the money raised through Sport Relief helps vulnerable people, across the UK and the rest of the world, to live happier, healthier and safer lives.

Tracey Hobson, sports teacher at Tameside College said: “The groups have done really well in delivering the sessions effectively and have worked well as a team to organise different sports activities. I am pleased to say that they’ve engaged as many students as possible and raised money for a good cause.”
