The Good Schools Guide set to co-host launch of 2018 Apprenticeships Anthology

Finance and HR leaders urged to attend launch of Apprenticeships Anthology

Human Resource teams and Finance Directors are being urged to attend a free event next month celebrating the launch of the inaugural edition of the 2018 Apprenticeships Anthology.

2018 Apprenticeships Anthology Launch is being co-hosted by The Good Schools Guide and Queen Mary University of London on April 6 – exactly one year after the Apprenticeship levy was introduced.

The breakfast event, being held at Arts Two Lecture Theatre on Queen Mary’s Mile End campus, will focus on the much-heralded launch of the annual anthology which pulls together key reflections on apprenticeships and aspirations for the future from policymakers, businesses, training providers and apprentices as an illustration of some of the opportunities and challenges faced by stakeholders in the last year.

Free copies of the publication will be provided to event attendees with digital copies available after the event.

Keynote speaker Sir Gerry Berragan, Chief Executive of the Institute for Apprenticeships (IfA), will outline issues that have challenged the IfA in the last year and set out priorities to be actioned in the coming months.

His speech The IfA in 2017 – Reflections on the launch of the IfA and challenges ahead will address obstacles such as the downturn in the number of apprenticeship starts and analyse the likelihood of creating three million apprentices by 2020.

Sir Gerry will then join a panel of employers and apprentices to discuss the new anthology.

Contributors to the anthology include:

• Jules Pipe, Deputy Mayor of London,
• Neil Carberry, Managing Director for Skills at the Confederation of British Industry (CBI),

• OFSTED,
• QAA,
• HEFCE and many more.
