Futures training programme sees 87% of participants offered jobs with Alea Casino, Nottingham

In November last year leading careers advice, training and employment service, Futures Advice, Skills & Employment was awarded a contract from government to deliver adult training schemes across the East Midlands.

The programme supports unemployed people by equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed in a modern workplace, preparing them to apply for jobs and attend interviews.

Futures tailors programmes for the employers they are working with and has included sessions on customer service, interview techniques, maths and English. The programmes also include work placement opportunities and a guaranteed interview at the end of the programme.

Restaurant chain Frankie and Benny’s was one of the first companies to trial this bespoke recruitment model in its Nottingham and Chesterfield restaurants. The feedback from learners, and the employer was excellent, and now they want to roll the programme out across more of their restaurants.

Alea Casino having recently ran a recruitment programme through Futures, have been impressed with the quality of the service provided.

Emma Alleyne, House Manager at Alea, said: “I approached Futures to help us engage job seekers within the local community to fill positions on our dealer training school. The service I received from end-to-end was of the highest standard.

The customer service training these candidates had through Futures was also tailored to our needs, meaning our new recruits already had a knowledge of expectations before they commenced their employment. With 87.5% of the participants given an interview, and offered a position at the end of the programme. Alea are keen to continue working with Futures to support the recruitment of local people.

Futures continue to go from strength to strength with now establishing courses with large employers including Mansfield District Council, Premier Inn and McDonalds to help unemployed people find sustainable work.
