Business students breathe life into charity campaign
Business students from Tameside College raised over £700 for charity, the British Lung Foundation (BLF) over the festive period.
Kasim Aslam, ambassador for BLF, visited the college to present the students with certificates of appreciation and to personally thank those involved with the fundraising project.
Utilising a stall in Ashton-Under-Lyne’s Market Square, the students sold Christmas gifts and treats including: santa hats, sweets, drinks, handmade calendars and Christmas cards as well as hosting a tombola competition.
Kasim said: “I’m very thankful to the students and college for being involved with the Christmas market fundraising. They have raised an amazing amount of money in only two weeks and the British Lung Foundation will be using this to fund some life-saving projects.”
The British Lung Foundation was founded in 1986 and promotes lung health, supports those affected by lung conditions and diseases and campaigns for cleaner air.
