New search engine created by university to explore 17 libraries and resource centres

Université Paris-Saclay has developed a search engine which features a unique platform displaying how to access online resources across the institution’s libraries.

Focus currently provides information from nine institutions; however, it plans to provide resources from 17 of the university’s libraries and resource centres.

The new interface makes it quick and easy for students, researchers and staff to identify and explore all the resources available in the libraries and documentation centers of Université Paris-Saclay including online articles, books, eBooks, journals, maps and theses.

The high-performance platform provides users with an instant insight. The search engine has a filter tool which allows members to search specific partner institutions as well as filtering by language, date and type of publication. 

Focus also allows students to access, consult and borrow documents, including all doctoral theses as well as the collection on Hal, the open archive of multidisciplinary articles.

All data from the 17 research centers and libraries in Université Paris-Saclay will be available on Focus by Spring 2018.
