NEW PRINCIPAL FOR CITY OF WOLVERHAMPTON COLLEGE

A new principal and chief executive has been appointed to head up City of Wolverhampton College.

Claire Boliver, who has held the position on an interim basis since October 2015, was appointed after a competitive two-day interview and assessment process.

Mrs Boliver, aged 54, joined the college as deputy principal in June 2013, and was instrumental in the transformation of the organisation to its position as one of the leading further education providers in the country.   

Speaking of her appointment, Mrs Boliver said: “Having carried out the role of principal and chief executive on an interim basis, I am delighted to have been offered the permanent position.

“I am excited about the future of the organisation and am looking forward to continuing to adapt the services we provide to meet the needs of our current and future students, and supporting the many employers we work with by ensuring the workforce of the future is equipped with the skills they need to help businesses thrive.” 

Barry Picken, chair of governors of the college, added: “Claire has worked exceptionally hard since joining the college in 2013, particularly over the last 20 months in the interim role, and I am extremely pleased that she has been appointed to the post on a permanent basis.

“I am confident that she will continue to drive the organisation forward for the benefit of current and future students and, that under her leadership, it will continue to be recognised as one of the top colleges in the country.”
