Why language matters: Demystifying D&I and social mobility
Amazing Apprenticeships return with the second instalment of Time for Change for 2022 and this time the free-to-attend workshop will focus on language and the impact it can have on this challenging agenda.
Designed to explore the biggest barriers faced by apprenticeships and early careers professionals, April’s workshop invites leading speakers from the sector to discuss the significance, subjectivity, and sensitivity of words.
“The subject of language has been a recurring theme across almost every session of The Genie Programme to date and therefore one we wanted to open to our wider audience through Time for Change,” said Tom Pritchard, employer relationships manager, Amazing Apprenticeships.
The session will welcome representatives from leading organisations to explore how to avoid falling into the many pitfalls of language when it comes to EDI and social mobility within apprenticeships.
“Language matters. Especially when learning to navigate equality, diversity and inclusion. Most apprenticeship professionals aren’t trained EDI specialists, yet being confident in the nuance of language can make a massive difference to both the approach and acceptance of change,” continued Pritchard.
Taking place on Tuesday 26th April at the new time of 13.30, Time for Change; de-mystifying D&I and social mobility is open and free-to-attend for all apprenticeships and early careers professionals.
Registration is now open.
