Today The Chartered Management Institute (CMI) is  launching a 75th Anniversary Bursary programme that will award 75 management bursaries to aspiring, junior and middle managers across British industry. The 75th Anniversary Bursary scheme will help identify and support potential business leaders of tomorrow whose financial circumstances may otherwise prevent them achieving their management and leadership potential.

The bursaries will be open to aspiring, junior and middle managers from across all backgrounds and are worth up to £1,000 each, running for up to three years. The programme is being launched as part of CMI’s year-long celebrations to mark its 75th anniversary.

Applications are open to UK residents aged 18 years and over, who are able to demonstrate the need for financial support. Applicants will have to submit a 500 word statement explaining their specific choice of qualification and detailing how the award will develop their leadership and management skills. Applications will be judged by a CMI paneI.

Ann Francke, CEO, CMI commented: “Everyone, regardless of their background or circumstances, should be empowered to achieve their full career potential. Bursaries such as the ones we are launching today can offer career changing opportunities to those who otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford a management training course.

“Our aim is to identify and assist brilliant business leaders of tomorrow. Supported learning and development are essential for aspiring managers and I am delighted that our 75th bursary programme will give 75 successful applicants a great opportunity to take their career to the next level.”

Applications for the management bursary close on the 31st May and the recipients will be notified on the 30th June .
