APM is headline sponsor of Asian Apprenticeship Awards
A GLOBAL skills training provider will be the headline sponsor for the Asian Apprenticeship Awards in 2017.
APM was founded in Australia and is now an established skills provider in the UK and is known for its pioneering work with welfare to work programmes.
The Asian Apprenticeship Awards, in its second year, was founded by Birmingham based training provider The Pathway Group, to promote the importance of apprenticeship training to the British Asian community.
Nearly 500 people attended the first awards in November and once again in 2017 there will be 20 different awards to apprentices and employers across a range of sectors.
APM is a mainstream training provider working with people of all ages all over the UK including those with physical and mental disabilities that make it harder for them to find work. The company also works on offender rehabilitation programmes.
“As a skills and apprenticeship provider, we’re committed to developing local talent and are passionate about recognising and celebrating apprentices from all facets of our local communities – and the employers and learning providers reaching out to them,” said Sara Goldie, APM UK Director of Skills.
“Apprenticeships have become more and more important to the economy of the UK. We would encourage all employers to enter submissions to the awards and celebrate their success with us at what promises to be another terrific event in November.”
“The Asian Apprenticeship Awards is an excellent initiative that promotes and showcases apprenticeship training with minority and underrepresented communities; we’re extremely proud to be sponsoring the awards this year,” added Adam Hart, UK Managing Director of APM, that has its UK base in Newtown in Birmingham.
Safaraz Ali from the Pathway Group and founder of The Asian Apprenticeship Awards said that having APM as a headline sponsor was an excellent start to 2017.
“We know that British Asians are underrepresented when it comes to apprentice training and so decided that the awards would be a good way of raising awareness and the profile of apprenticeships amongst young British Asians,” said Safaraz Ali.
“There is no better way to do this than to celebrate the success of apprentices and the companies and organisations that employ them.
“Having APM as partner and headline sponsor is a great start to 2017 and underscores the importance of the awards.”
Nominations are currently open for the 2017 Asian Apprenticeship Awards that will take place on Thursday, November 2 at Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham.
