Outstanding safety award for Cambridge Regional College

Cambridge Regional College has been awarded an Order of Distinction in the RoSPA Health and Safety Awards in recognition of its outstanding health and safety performance.

The college is one of just a handful to receive the top honour which also marks its achievement in winning an impressive 19 consecutive Gold awards over the last 19 years.

The Order of Distinction marks CRC’s continuing work on safeguarding students, staff and visitors, as well as its initiatives in promoting and raising awareness of safety in all areas of the college, including through student competitions and workshops.

CRC’s Health and Safety Manager Jeff Moody, responsible for the college’s outstanding record, said the award was a great achievement.

“We place great importance on health and safety in all areas of the college and it is a great honour that this has been recognised with the RoSPA Order of Distinction,” he said.

Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of awards and events, said: “The RoSPA Awards are the most prestigious in the world of occupational health and safety, and held in high regard around the world, as winning one demonstrates an organisation’s commitment to maintaining an excellent health and safety record. Achieving the standard required is no mean feat.

The RoSPA Awards 2017 were sponsored by NEBOSH, the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health, for the 12th consecutive year.
