#FutureOfWork: Spotlight on digital skills | S2 Ep5

This week’s #FutureOfWork live show sees host Gavin O’Meara joined by James Lane (Digital, Creative and Design Sector Manager, NCFE) to discuss all things digital. We’ll also be joined by two incredible guest speakers, Jenny Taylor MBE (Leader of IBM UK’s Early Professional programmes) and Helen Milner (Chief Executive of the Good Things Foundation), who will lend their expertise to the conversation.

In a world where digital skills are no longer optional and are essential for two-thirds of UK jobs (DCMS, 2019), we must ensure that digital skills gaps are being addressed, and imminently. We’ll therefore be discussing the importance of digital skills to the current and the future workforce, where the biggest digital skills gaps are appearing, and the impact of the digital divide. We’ll also explore what solutions exist to address these skills gaps – including education-based solutions, such as digital T Level qualifications – as well as which specialisms will be required over the next 10 years in the digital space.
