NEW MESMA QUICKBOOK REVEALS TRAINING PROVIDERS’ OFSTED FINDINGS
A NEW booklet covering the latest Ofsted reports on independent training providers is available as a free download from online quality assurance specialist MESMA.
The handy reference guide ‘Ofsted Inspection Key Findings Quickbook’ provides key information from details published by the education standards’ watchdog about dozens of providers across the country. It includes overall grade summary tables, a summary of key findings and advice about ways to improve for failing or struggling providers.
Content has been sourced from the public reports published on the Ofsted website at www.reports.ofsted.gov.uk/ and covers the 34 organisations inspected by Ofsted between February to April 2016.
MESMA believes that those identified by Ofsted as requiring necessary action usually have QA systems that fail to comprehensively identify actions for improvement.
This reflects the need for providers to have good self-assessment systems in place, which encourage better collaboration between colleagues as well as strengthen senior management’s oversight of the impact of their quality improvement plans.
Carole Loader, director and founder of MESMA, said the Quickbook highlights to those with executive responsibility the failures in implementing improvement planning processes and identifying accurately enough those areas where improvements are needed.
“Those providers deemed outstanding have a common characteristic centred around a thorough and relentless commitment to continuous improvement,” she said. “Self-assessments need to be accurate, well structured, evidence rich and ultimately challenge staff to work together.
“Our booklet is a valuable time saver for those who want to utilise Ofsted key findings as a barometer of current Ofsted judgements without having to sift through all the report downloads.”
