David discusses Area Reviews, implementing the skills plan, transition from school into post 16 education, Levels 4 and 5, and incorporating high quality ‘off the job training’ into Apprenticeships. He also discusses English and Maths challenge, with 65% of learners starting college not achieving English and Maths grades A* to C, this challenge sits firmly with colleges to help learners and to work with policy on what is the right qualification to encourage the learners to achieve the suitable level of literacy and numeracy skills.
