OneFile takes to the States
OneFile, the UK’s leading software for learning and development, is leading the new apprenticeship movement in Maryland, USA.
Apprenticeships are the driving force behind UK business. From horticulture to hairdressing; plumbing to public relations, millions of people across the country rely on Apprenticeships to equip them with the skills they need for a prosperous career – while thousands of companies invest in vocational training to nurture their future workforce.
In the States, Apprenticeships have traditionally been limited to the trade sector – such as plumbing, electric and construction – but all that is about to change.
UK-based training provider, 3aaaApprenticeships has collaborated with The Children’s Guild to create a new joint venture called TranZed Apprenticeship Services. Together, they’re bringing a new style of vocational training to the state of Maryland. Working alongside Governor Larry Hogan, TranZed Apprenticeship Services is introducing Maryland’s first registered non-traditional Apprenticeship programme in technology, digital marketing, and cyber security. The Apprenticeship looks towards the UK’s ‘earn-while-you-learn’ model, combining on-the-job training with classroom learning.
To celebrate the official launch of their new Apprenticeship programme, TranZed Apprenticeship Services invited some of the most innovative, inspiring and thoughtful minds from across the State of Maryland and across the pond in the UK to join them. Susanna Lawson, co-founder and director of OneFile – the UK’s leading eportfolio for learning and development – attended the launch, alongside Paul Champion, President of TranZed, Kelly Schulz, Maryland Secretary of Labor, John Ladd, US Department of Labor Office and Apprenticeship Administrator, and Assistant State Superintendent Dr. Lynne Gilli.
Susanna is a member of the Transatlantic Apprenticeship Exchange Forum – a collection of the most forward-thinking suppliers and training providers working to drive the new apprenticeship movement across the States.
Together, they’ve developed a new breed of Apprenticeships – and OneFile is an integral part of the picture. Every Apprentice enrolled on the new standards will complete all training using OneFile’s interactive eportfolio software.
With OneFile, learners can upload a rich portfolio of competencies to an online platform, train on-the-go and receive instant feedback from tutors and mentors. OneFile transforms vocational training into an immersive learning experience and delivers huge savings in paper, printing and training costs.
With OneFile by their side, Tranzed Apprenticeship Services is pioneering a new era for Apprenticeships in Maryland and promising a brighter future for people across America.
OneFile is the UK’s leading eportfolio for learning and development. Using the latest innovations in paperless technology, their innovative software supports the complete learning journey – from apprentices to professional progression – bringing learning to life every step of the way.
