Thomas International appoints new Chief Digital Officer following global surge in revenue
Global talent assessment provider Thomas International (“Thomas”) announces significant revenue growth in 2021 as it appoints Gareth Jones to the position of Chief Digital Officer (CDO) to further accelerate digital growth.
Gareth brings extensive experience in HR and recruitment. His appointment sees the merging of two previous positions, Chief Technology Officer and Chief Product Officer, to unlock value through the adoption of new, innovative technologies that will put Thomas’ customers and employees at the forefront of operations.
Prior to joining Thomas, Gareth spent five years at The Chemistry Group, a SaaS assessments company as its Chief Product and Technology Officer, and later its Chief Innovation Officer. In his role, Gareth focused on the core competency of data science to drive innovation in assessing people’s potential. He then moved on to becoming CEO at Headstart, a diversity focussed, data science-led candidate screening and management platform for four years.
The appointment comes as Thomas reports record-breaking figures in 2021, seeing a 34% increase in global revenue and onboarding over 2,000 new customers. With many businesses ramping up recruitment, diversity and inclusion initiatives and staff development, Thomas saw a 64% increase in subscription bookings and a 46% increase in assessment usage over the previous year.
Sabby Gill, CEO at Thomas International comments, “2021 saw us unify the company around a global strategy. Following record growth in new customers and the successful launch of our new platform Thomas Perform, we’re on track in achieving our global growth ambitions. I have no doubt that this year will be even better as we continue to build out our teams with the best talent to ensure we’re helping more businesses and their people truly reach their potential.”
Thomas is looking to increase headcount by 25% this year to meet the growing customer demand and market opportunity, with Gareth standing out as its most recent essential hire.
Commenting on his appointment, Gareth Jones, Chief Digital Officer at Thomas International, says, “I’m thrilled to join Thomas at this pivotal moment for the industry. Understanding human potential has never been more important and for decades, businesses have massively underinvested in their people. Thomas’ assessments are at the forefront of making the world of work a fairer place and I’m incredibly excited to build innovative strategies that improve the ability for businesses to better understand their people.”
Sabby continues, “Gareth’s passion for people and technology, along with his expert knowledge in assessing and understanding human potential, is exactly why we’re looking forward to him helping the business continue to grow.”
