Coventry College capped 2021 by celebrating achievements across all areas of study as part of a year-long initiative to reward outstanding students.

A group of 12 high achieving students were celebrated by their tutors at the November Learner of the Month event, which was hosted by the college’s Vice Principal for Curriculum Innovation, Quality and Performance on the last day of term on Friday, December 17.

The Student of the Month initiative celebrates development and accomplishments at monthly intervals to recognise those who have gone above and beyond in their chosen subjects.

Tutors and their nominated students are invited to attend a ceremony to highlight excellent attendance, assignment feedback and exam performance, as well as students who have displayed leadership qualities in the classroom or shown significant personal and academic progress.

The winning students each receive a certificate and a £20 shopping voucher as a reward for their hard work.

The November winners included: Apprentice Early Years Practitioner Xanthe Hives; sport student Jacob Weeks; media student Kane Mansaray; cabin crew student Harriet Rathbone; childcare student Abbi Westbrook; business student Lewis Soler-Gomez; construction student Prachayanon Kulsantia; Motor Vehicle student Korey Tuson; life skills student Ashley Giles; science student Evie McCann; ESOL student Erika Budacova and English student Matthew Blakeway.

Patrick Geary, Vice Principal for Curriculum Innovation, Quality and Performance, said: “It was great to meet and celebrate the success of some of our fantastic students.

“I was completely blown away by the achievements of the students I met today and impressed by their dedication and commitment. They are truly a credit to themselves and the college.”

Nominations for December’s Coventry College Student of the Month Awards must be submitted on Friday, January 21 to be awarded at an event on Friday, January 28.
