2 Start Training Fleet Grows with Further Investment in HGV Training Vehicles
2 Start Ltd (@2StartHGV) are proud to announce the arrival of their new Iveco S-Way tractor unit and two Schmitz Cargobull trailers from North East Truck & Van to further expand their growing fleet of articulated training vehicles!
The recent purchase of the new Iveco S-Way and the two reputable Schmitz Cargobull trailers are all part of their goal to provide the best possible training while helping as many people as they can obtain their HGV Cat C+E licences.
With the huge pressure for HGV driver training over the summer months, coupled with the recent November 2021 announcements by the DVSA to the Category C+E licence test requirements, 2 Start needed to expand their fleet to help meet industry demand.
The DVSA changes mean that anyone that currently holds a Category B (Car) licence can now train to obtain their Category C+E driver licence without the need to complete the rigid Category C.
This is just one of the reasons for their recent investment in new vehicles and they already have further vehicles pipelined to be acquired in the following months.
However, vehicle availability is playing a pivotal part in this process for 2 Start and the main delay in their training fleet growing faster to meet industry demand.
2 Start training, which now boasts a fleet of over 25 vehicles, is continuously growing to help meet the increased demand they are facing for HGV driver training with the introduction of their new vehicle, being massively welcomed by all the staff and students at 2 Start!
Their dedication & commitment to acquire the new tractor unit and trailer was lengthy and provided plenty of distance to road test both the tractor unit and the trailers.
The new Iveco S-Way tractor unit came all the way from Middlesbrough, while the two Schmitz Cargobull trailers came all the way from Ireland.
Their new truck has made the lengthy but scenic journey across the country from Middlesbrough, where 2 Start’s Managing Director Paul Moon, travelled to pick up the tractor unit and drive the beautiful journey back to their Southampton depot.
Before setting off on the long-haul home, their new Iveco S-Way made a short stop at Liverpool’s iconic Three Graces, which consists of the Royal Liver Building, The Cunard Building and the Port of Liverpool Building which is all situated on Liverpool’s Pier Head.
Since arriving at their Southampton training centre the new Iveco S-Way has been put straight into the action, with on the road practical driver training and ‘S-shaped’ reversing already being completed, helping the new wave of C+E drivers train to obtain their licences.
Paul Moon, MD of 2 Start completed vigorous checks and research prior to purchasing the tractor unit and trailers, ensuring their high standards were kept and not compromised by the struggle to find new vehicles because of the increased nationwide demand for HGV’s.
