Cardiff and Vale College student Mollie is a WorldSkills winner
Mollie Williams, a Level 2 Beauty Therapy student at Cardiff and Vale College, has won the bronze medal at a prestigious competition to find the best trainee beauty therapists in the country.
Mollie won the bronze in the VTCT WorldSkills competition. The 16-year-old from Barry had to compete with just under 20 other young people to provide perfect treatments for hands, face and neck and waxing.
“We had to do makeup in a certain amount of time and we had to make sure we did everything correctly and hygienically,” Mollie said. “It was really exciting and I didn’t expect to get bronze so that was really good.”
Ceri Evans, CAVC’s Head of Hairdressing, Beauty and Complementary Therapies, said: “We are all really proud of Mollie. She’s really found her niche in Beauty Therapy – Mollie might only be 16 but she is already doing freelance hair and makeup work for the House of Fraser and nothing fazes her. She has a great future ahead of her.”
