Two new resources for ‘truly personalised’ learner programmes
Two new resources have been launched to help provide personalised programmes for all learners, supporting their progression on to Apprenticeships, employment or higher level study.
The materials, an e-guide and a self-assessment tool, were unveiled at the Modelling 16-19 Study Programmes across the FE & Skills Providers conference in London.
The event was created to share initial findings from three projects commissioned by The Education and Training Foundation (EFT). The projects are exploring solutions for the need to give providers more support, so they can fully implement the underlying philosophy of study programmes by taking advantage of the flexibilities afforded by new arrangements.
Professor Ann Hodgson from UCL Institute of Education, who chaired the conference, said: “The task of providing inspiring, motivational and individually tailored Study Programmes for all 16-19 year olds is a vital but challenging one.
“This new e-guide helps those responsible for the governance and leadership of study programmes meet those challenges by providing clear, authoritative guidance. Readers will be able to benefit from the combined wisdom of an expert panel of leaders and advisers from the education and training sector and associated bodies and from 12 specially commissioned feasibility studies that have contributed to the development of both the guide and self-assessment tool.”
EFT has also commissioned AELP, ALIN and the University of Portsmouth to run a range of CPD events for those managing study programmes.
