QA Apprenticeships first to be ‘outstanding’ in all areas
IT and business services training provider QA Apprenticeships has become the first business of its kind to be rated ‘outstanding’ in all areas under Ofsted’s new inspection system.
The company was awarded top marks across outcomes for learners, leadership and management, and quality of teaching learning and assessment in a report earlier this week.
It is the first time a private apprenticeship business has received the highest grade across the board since the inspection system was introduced last year.
Ben Pike, director of QA Apprenticeships and a member of the Association of Employment and Learning Providers, said: “This is a glowing endorsement of all the hard work of our dedicated staff and recognises the vital partnerships we have with fantastic employers and highly motivated apprentices.”
He added that the report will boost the group as it expects to open up another 2,000 opportunities for apprentices in 2014 to start technology and commercial careers.
“But as we grow we must ensure employers continue to gain real value through our apprenticeships, by staying true to the core values of employability and highly sector-relevant training,” he said.
“The skills gap in the IT and technology sector represents a key opportunity for apprenticeship providers, driving the resurgence of apprenticeship training throughout the new year and beyond.”
