NEF announces Innovisions 2012 conference

The New Engineering Foundation (NEF) charity has announced plans to hold a conference in December on achieving and maintaining innovative cultures and practices.

According to NEF CEO Sa’ad Medhat, innovation has become an important differentiator in a highly competitive market, where standing still is not an option.

“It has become a more sophisticated function that is mandated by organisation,” said Mehat.

“However, achieving and maintaining innovative cultures and practices requires contemporary management systems and leadership commitment for continuous improvement.

“Innovisions 2012 will provide a participative rich environment for industrial and academic leaders and policy makers to share views on how to accelerate and sustain innovation in order to drive growth and productivity.”

The conference will be held in London on 5 December and will be in an “inquiry” style, providing a platform to discuss views and challenges pertaining to current issues in innovation and knowledge.

Dave Drury, chancellor of EDF Energy Campus, which is sponsoring the conference, said: “We want our people to think differently, to challenge some of the norms, to challenge some of the processes, and in particular, to challenge some of the values and behaviours to move forward in a positive way which will open up a whole new world of innovation.”
