CELEBRATING INSPIRING CREATIVITY & INNOVATION in EDTECH

The winners of the 23rd annual @BettAwards, designed to celebrate the inspiring creativity and innovation that can be found throughout technology for education, will be announced at a celebratory lunch at the Hurlingham Club in South West London.

Recognising excellence from schools and businesses across 20 categories, and with an additional award for an Outstanding Achievement, the awards will reward some stand-out contributions to the EdTech sector.

The Bett Awards ceremony is traditionally held alongside Bett, the world’s leading showcase of education technology solutions, but was delayed as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

A team of 32 judges were tasked with selecting the winners from hundreds of entries.

Judge Dave Smith, Senior Inspector at Havering Education Services, commented:

“As ever the Bett Awards are the gold standard by which the EdTech sector is judged.  Arguably in the current circumstances this has never been more important, with schools working remotely and pupils requiring first class EdTech resources to support their blended learning.

“Leaders in education can be assured that a product or service that wins a Bett Award has been through a rigorous process questioning its inclusive design, impact on pupil outcomes, cost-effectiveness and much more.  Ultimately, this helps to drive the sector to further refine products and services in the pursuit of excellence for the consumers that matter – the learners and educators themselves.”

Julia Garvey, Deputy Director General of the British Educational Suppliers Association who manages the judging process said:

“The Covid pandemic and the move to remote learning shone a spotlight on the outstanding resources provided by our EdTech industry. Many suppliers rose to the challenge and made their resources available for free to help support schools during this time.

“If one good thing has come out of the last year is that more schools have embraced EdTech and discovered the high quality resources that are out there, many of which being recognised by these awards today. The standard of entry was incredibly high, and our judges had their work cut out for them to pick a winner. Every company nominated for a Bett Award should feel proud to have made the shortlist, that is an achievement in itself.”
