St Mary’s shortlisted in Independent Schools of the Year awards
St Mary’s School, Cambridge, is celebrating further national award recognition after it was shortlisted in the ‘Independent Girls’ School of the Year’ category at the prestigious Independent Schools of the Year 2021 awards. In June, St Mary’s was one of only four schools nationwide shortlisted in the ‘art and craft’ category of the Education Business Awards.
The Independent Schools of the Year 2021 awards saw a record number of entries from around the UK this year, across 24 different categories. Despite this overwhelming response, St Mary’s School impressed the distinguished panel of judges to be commended in the highly regarded Girls’ School category. Finalists will be revealed on 7th September. Judges will then meet again to decide the winner of each individual category – with overall winners subsequently announced at an awards ceremony in October.
St Mary’s Headmistress, Charlotte Avery, said:
“We are absolutely delighted to be shortlisted in another highly-regarded national award scheme. Schools all over the country have shown great resilience and agility over the last two academic years and awards programs like these really do boost morale at independent schools like ours. Our priority throughout this past year has been to continue to deliver a first-class education experience to our students and we are humbled that this is being recognised by others in the industry. As a team, we look forward to the forthcoming ceremony and are keeping everything crossed for a win!”
The Independent Schools of the Year awards highlights schools that are delivering an excellent student experience. Organised by Independent School Parent Magazine, the awards are chaired by Dr Helen Wright, international education adviser and past Vice Chair of the ISC. Dr Wright is supported by a panel of judges, which includes leading Head Teachers and representatives of professional associations.
