Gordon Marsden MP calls for new green skills plan
Gordon Marsden, Shadow Minister for FE, Skills and Regional Growth, calls on the government for a green skills plan that business and consumers can stick to, and one “where they see a sense of direction”.
Marsden tells FE News that the challenge of the green agenda is not just to ensure reasonably wealthy people benefit from measures such as feed-in tariffs, but to “make step changes in housing and in public buildings for a whole range of people, and to do that particularly perhaps in areas of the country where the traditional economic models have disappeared, where the green model of green skills and green jobs offer some very attractive new possibilities for real jobs, decent jobs, and strengthen the economies of those communities.
